Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

Articles submitted for publication in Jurnal Pemikiran Pendidikan dan Keguruan (JPPK) must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Articles should be original, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals.
  • Articles should present research, whether library-based, fieldwork, or other types of research, or a rigorous theoretical study, literature review, case study, or reflective analysis contributing to education and the teaching profession.
  • All articles will be published in English. However, authors may submit manuscripts in either English or Indonesian.
  • Articles should be approximately 6,000–12,000 words, including references. Use Times New Roman, 11 pt, for the main text, with justified alignment. Follow the JPPK article template for page layout, line spacing, and other formatting details.
  • The article title should be concise, informative, and contain no more than 13 words. Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold, with centered alignment. Author names should use Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold, with centered alignment; affiliations should use Times New Roman, 11 pt, with centered alignment.
  • Submissions must be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file formats. Other formats, such as LaTeX files or PDFs, are not accepted as the main editable manuscript.
  • Articles should include: 1) title; 2) author names without academic titles, affiliations, and email addresses; 3) abstracts in English and Indonesian; 4) keywords; 5) introduction; 6) research methodology or an explanation of the analytical approach appropriate to the article type; 7) results and discussion; 8) conclusion; and 9) references. Present findings before their interpretation and distinguish the Results and Discussion subsections in accordance with the journal template.
  • Include each author’s full name, university or professional institution, and a valid, contactable email address. Clearly identify the corresponding author.
  • Provide abstracts in Indonesian and English, each consisting of 150–200 words in a single paragraph. Each abstract should describe the background, objective or focus, methodology, principal findings, and contribution or conclusion. Use Times New Roman, 10 pt, with justified alignment; italicize the English abstract in accordance with the template.
  • Provide 3–5 keywords or phrases beneath each abstract. Select specific terms representing the article’s main concepts and supporting academic discovery.
  • Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially and referred to in the text. Place table titles above tables and figure captions below figures, following the journal template. Tables should be centered, with clear headings; avoid vertical rules and unnecessary horizontal rules. Visual materials should support the analysis and should not duplicate the accompanying narrative.
  • Include figures in the electronic manuscript in JPG or PNG format, with sufficient clarity for reading and publication.
  • Italicize foreign-language words or phrases where appropriate. Use consistent transliteration for non-Latin terms and explain unfamiliar terminology when necessary.
  • The reference list should include relevant primary sources, such as books, documents, interviews, or observations where appropriate, and current secondary literature from scholarly books or peer-reviewed journals. Engage with relevant literature from approximately the last 10 years while retaining foundational sources where academically necessary. Include a DOI when available.
  • Use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition (APA 7), with author–date citations in the text and an alphabetical reference list. Every recoverable source cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and each reference-list entry must be cited in the manuscript. Personal communications are cited in the text only.
