Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to Arunika Widya: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • Articles may report empirical research, literature-based studies, or scholarly conceptual discussions relevant to primary and secondary education. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches are welcome where appropriate to the research problem.
  • Prepare the main text in Indonesian and provide abstracts and keywords in both Indonesian and English.
  • Prepare the manuscript using the journal template. The main text should be single-spaced and use a 12-point font, in accordance with the submission preparation checklist. Retain the template's page layout, margins, section structure, and placement of author information, abstracts, tables, and figures.
  • Submit the manuscript in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format. Provide an editable manuscript rather than a PDF-only submission.
  • Include the following components: title; author names, affiliations, and email addresses; abstracts and keywords in Indonesian and English; Introduction; Method; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgments where applicable; and References.
  • Write author names without academic titles. Provide each author's institutional affiliation and a valid email address, and identify the corresponding author clearly.
  • Provide an abstract of 75–150 words in each language. Each abstract should stand alone and present the research problem, objective, approach or methodology, principal findings, and conclusion or contribution. Select keywords that represent the article's central concepts.
  • Number tables and figures sequentially and place them within the manuscript near the relevant discussion. Put each table's number and title above the table. Tables should be centered, with single-spaced content and clear headings. Provide informative captions and acknowledge the source where applicable.
  • Provide figures in a clear, legible electronic format, such as JPG or PNG. Ensure that labels remain readable and that any necessary permission for reproduced material has been obtained.
  • Italicize foreign-language words and phrases where appropriate. Use technical terms, abbreviations, and any transliteration consistently throughout the manuscript.
  • Use relevant primary sources and current secondary literature from books and peer-reviewed journals. Select references for their relevance and scholarly contribution, rather than adding unrelated citations.
  • Use APA, 6th edition, with author–date citations in the text and an alphabetically arranged reference list. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for the required citation system. Every work cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and every reference-list entry must be cited in the manuscript.
