EDUKASI KEWAJIBAN SERTIFIKASI PRODUK HALAL BAGI PELAKU USAHA DI KABUPATEN PEKALONGAN

This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and readiness of micro and small business owners in fulfilling their obligations for halal product certification, as stipulated in Law No. 33 of 2014. The main challenges faced by the partners include low regulatory and technical literacy regarding halal certification procedures, as well as limited access to information and guidance. The activity was conducted through a combination of outreach, education, and simulation-based online training using the Sihalal platform. The target audience for the activity included 50 food and beverage businesses in Pekalongan Regency. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in knowledge, technical skills, and legal awareness. The average understanding score of participants increased from 41 to 82, with 86% of participants understanding the urgency of halal certification and 80% ready to apply for accreditation shortly. The activity also encouraged five participants to register for Sihalal accounts independently. These findings demonstrate that a participatory and contextual educational approach is effective in promoting compliance among business operators with halal regulations. Moving forward, institutional strengthening is needed, such as establishing Halal Clinics for SMEs at the sub-district level, to support the long-term sustainability of this activity’s impact and foster the development of a competitive halal business culture.
