Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes in Aqidah Akhlak for fourth-grade students through the application of the
Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model. The approach used is a collaborative Classroom
Action Research (CAR) between the researcher and the teacher, conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning,
implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included tests (pretests and posttests at the end of each
cycle) to measure cognitive achievement, as well as observations to record student activities, motivation, and engagement. Data
were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods to explain the learning process. The results showed an
improvement, with the class average score rising from 51.38 in the pre-intervention phase to 63.88 in Cycle I and 77.77 in
Cycle II, while the class mastery rate increased to 94.44% in Cycle II. Furthermore, process observations revealed increased
student participation, improved quality of group discussions, greater individual responsibility, and a more respectful attitude,
indicating improvements in affective and social aspects alongside cognitive aspects. These findings suggest that the implementation
of STAD is effective in enhancing the quality of the learning process and outcomes for Aqidah Akhlak in elementary
madrasahs. It is recommended that teachers adopt STAD elements in a planned manner and receive training in group
management and assessment instrument validation to ensure more consistent and sustainable implementation.
