Open Access Policy

Islamic Education: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam supports immediate open access to scholarly research on Islamic education. This policy is based on the principle that freely available research promotes a broader global exchange of knowledge, including among researchers, educators, students, institutions, and the wider community.

Free and Immediate Access

Articles made available through the journal's open-access platform can be read, downloaded, searched, and linked to without a reader subscription or access charge. The journal aims to make scholarly findings accessible to readers across institutional and geographic boundaries, including educators and communities who may not have access to subscription-based publications.

Open access describes the availability of published content to readers; it does not, by itself, settle the separate questions of author charges, copyright ownership, or the terms for adapting and redistributing an article. These matters are addressed by the journal's Article Processing Charge and Copyright and Licensing policies.

Reuse and Attribution

For articles expressly published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), readers may copy, redistribute, adapt, translate, and build upon the work, including for commercial purposes, provided that the license conditions are followed. Users must credit the author or authors, identify the source of the publication, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.

Materials credited to third parties may be excluded from the article's Creative Commons license. Readers and subsequent users are responsible for observing any separately stated permissions and restrictions. License notices associated with earlier publications should be respected according to the terms applicable to those particular articles.

Open Knowledge and Scholarly Responsibility

This policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative, which supports wider access to scholarly literature. Authors remain responsible for the originality and accuracy of their work, ethical compliance, and lawful use of third-party materials. Open distribution does not remove the obligation to cite scholarship accurately or to respect authorship and research ethics.
